A lowboy, also known as a low-loader, low-bed, or float, is a type of semi-trailer characterized by two drops in deck height: one right after the gooseneck and one right before the wheels. This design feature enables the deck to be exceptionally low compared to other types of trailers.
Typically, lowboy trailers are favored for transporting heavy equipment and various machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoe loaders, passenger cars, vans, trailers, and agricultural machines - essentially, any items that are too large or irregularly shaped to be accommodated by a flatbed trailer or single-drop trailer.
