Skeletal trailers, also known as skeleton trailers or skeletal semi-trailers, are lightweight semi trailers primarily designed for the transportation of ISO tanks, ISO containers, and refrigerated containers. They come in various size configurations including 20-foot, 30-foot, and 40-foot containers.
Both flatbed trailers and skeletal trailers are capable of transporting containers. The flatbed trailer features a frame with a patterned steel plate floor, whereas the skeletal trailer lacks these components. The entire frame of the skeletal trailer is assembled and welded at a specialized location.
With 12 container twist locks this semi-trailer, it has the capacity to carry two 20 ft containers or one 40 ft container.
Humanized design features of skeletal trailers include:
- Equipped limit device on the twist lock for enhanced transportation safety.
- Stylish twist lock handle for easy operation.
- Front twist lock operation handle positioned inside the frame to prevent damage.
