Skeletal trailers, alternatively known as skeleton semitrailers, are lightweight vehicles primarily intended for carrying ISO tanks, ISO containers, and refrigerated containers. They come in various sizes, accommodating 20-foot, 30-foot, and 40-foot containers.
Both flatbed and skeletal trailers are capable of transporting containers. However, flatbed trailers feature a frame and a patterned steel plate floor, whereas skeletal trailers lack these components, having their entire frame assembled and welded at a specific location.
Mounted on the frame are container twist locks, capable of securing either two 20-foot containers or one 40-foot container. The front and rear tightening devices are fixed, while the middle one is concealable.
The skeletal trailer boasts a user-friendly design:
Equipped with a limit device for twisting the lock, enhancing transportation safety;
The twist lock handle boasts an aesthetic appeal and ease of operation;
The front twist lock operation handle is positioned inside the frame to prevent damage;
A two-position, three-way valve is incorporated into the braking system to improve parking safety.
